Why do you think Dan Cooper would sign his letters “D.B.” when that was not his name – but rather a journalists mistake? The name he used (in honor of someone he knew) was “Dan.” Wouldn’t he continue using that name? Wouldn’t he have mentioned the mistake and corrected it in his letters? He must’ve had a reason sufficient reason to choose that name in the first place.
In the book? He knew DB would be more well known. His name was certainly not Dan Cooper in real life.
